Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 March 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of Replayd (replayd.io). Replayd is operated as a sole trader, not a registered company. By using Replayd, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

We've written this in plain English. Got a question? hello@replayd.io

01

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of Replayd, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you are using Replayd on behalf of someone else, you represent that you have the authority to bind them to these terms.

These terms form a binding agreement between you and Replayd. We may update them from time to time — see the Changes section for how we handle that.

02

What Replayd Is

Replayd is a social platform for discovering, rating, and reviewing YouTube video essays. Think of it as Letterboxd for long-form video content. You can follow other users, build a public profile, and share your ratings and written reviews of essays you've watched.

Replayd is an independent, early-stage project. We are not affiliated with YouTube, Google, or any of the video creators whose work appears on the platform. We surface publicly available video metadata via the YouTube Data API — we do not host video content ourselves.

03

Eligibility

⚠️

You must be at least 13 years old to use Replayd. If you are under 13, please do not register or use the service.

By creating an account you confirm that you are 13 or older. We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts where we have reason to believe this requirement is not met.

You must also be a human. Accounts registered by bots or automated scripts are not permitted unless you have received explicit prior written permission from us.

04

Your Account

When you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree not to share your password with anyone or let others access your account.

Your responsibilities as an account holder
Keep your password confidential and secure
Notify us immediately at hello@replayd.io if you suspect unauthorised access
Ensure the information you provide on sign-up is accurate
Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You may only hold one account unless we've given you explicit permission for more. Accounts are non-transferable — you may not sell, trade, or hand over your account to another person.

05

Acceptable Use

Replayd is a community built around thoughtful engagement with long-form video content. We want it to remain a good place. The following is not allowed:

Prohibited conduct
Posting content that is hateful, abusive, threatening, or harassing toward any person or group
Impersonating another person, user, or Replayd itself
Spamming reviews, ratings, or follow requests — including coordinated inauthentic behaviour
Attempting to manipulate ratings or reviews for a video essay or creator
Using automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access or interact with the platform without permission
Attempting to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service or circumvent any security measures
Posting or linking to content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes any third party's intellectual property rights
Using Replayd to promote commercial products or services without our consent

We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend any account that we determine, in our sole discretion, violates these rules or otherwise harms the community — even if not explicitly listed above.

06

Your Content

When you post a review or other content on Replayd, you retain ownership of it. By posting it, however, you grant Replayd a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and in connection with promoting Replayd (for example, sharing a review on social media).

You are solely responsible for the content you post. By submitting content you confirm that:

Your representations about content you submit
The content is your own original work, or you have the right to post it
The content does not infringe the copyright, trademark, or other rights of any third party
The content does not contain personal data of others without their consent
The content complies with our Acceptable Use rules above

We do not actively pre-screen content, but we reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we consider harmful to the community, without notice.

07

Third-Party Content & the YouTube API

YouTube / Google Active

Replayd uses the YouTube Data API to fetch publicly available video metadata — titles, thumbnails, channel names, durations, and descriptions. By using Replayd, you also agree to be bound by YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

All video content on Replayd belongs to its respective creators and is subject to their own licences and terms. Replayd makes no claim of ownership over any YouTube video, thumbnail, or creator name. We simply surface publicly available information to make discovery easier.

Replayd may contain links to external websites or services. We have no control over their content and accept no responsibility for them. Visiting those links is at your own risk.

08

Availability & Changes to the Service

Replayd is an early-stage indie project. We provide the service as-is and on an as-available basis. We do not guarantee that Replayd will be available at all times, free of errors, or that data will never be lost.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. This includes adding or removing features, changing how things work, or shutting the platform down entirely. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes wherever possible.

We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from downtime, feature changes, or discontinuation of the service.

09

Termination

You can leave any time. To delete your account, contact us at hello@replayd.io. In-app account deletion is coming soon. On deletion, your personal data will be removed in line with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms of Service, without notice and without liability to you. Where practical, we'll try to let you know why.

On termination, provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive — such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.

10

Disclaimers

Replayd is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind — express, implied, or statutory.

We make no warranties that
The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
Any errors in the service will be corrected
Replayd is free of viruses or other harmful components
Ratings, reviews, or other user content are accurate or reliable
Video metadata sourced from the YouTube API is always accurate or up to date

You use Replayd at your own risk. These disclaimers apply to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, including UK consumer protection law.

11

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Replayd (and its operator) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill — arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Because Replayd is currently provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of the service is limited to £50.

12

Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or your use of Replayd shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Before resorting to formal legal action, we'd ask that you reach out to us at hello@replayd.io first — we're a small project and we'll always try to resolve things directly.

13

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know — for example, via a notice on the platform or an email to registered users.

Continuing to use Replayd after updated terms are posted means you accept the changes. If you don't agree to the updated terms, please stop using the service and contact us if you'd like your account deleted.
